Aspirations Week 2016

Earlier this year, Grace Hammond from Auto Marine Cables took part in Aspirations Week at Mauldeth Road Primary School in Manchester. This is an event where speakers are invited into the school to talk to the children about the world of work and the opportunities out there.

Grace said “It was a pleasure to have been given the opportunity to help out and I enjoyed it a lot. The children were exceptionally well behaved and asked intelligent questions throughout and the teachers supported me in answering those questions. Thank you for the experience and hope to see you all again next year.”

Below  are a few words from Janice Orchard from the Chair of Governors at Mauldeth Road Primary School.

Dear Grace,

Many thanks for coming to talk to the children in Years 5 and 6 at Mauldeth Road Primary School about your time at university and your job career.  During our Aspirations Week, the children learn about the world of work and your talk was excellent.  It really engaged the children and they enjoyed it enormously.  You had obviously spent a long time in preparation and it will really help to inform the children about opportunities available to them when they leave work.

The children all enjoy meeting visitors to the school and you were definitely no exception! Thank you for giving your time to help in this way - we all hope you will come again.

Best Regards,

Janice Orchard
Chair of Governors
