Northern Automotive Alliance Awards Dinner 2016

Yesterday evening, members of the AMC team attended the Annual NAA Awards Dinner in Manchester. It was a great event, well-organised with great food and even better company. Auto Marine Cables are delighted to announce they won the award for People & Skills this year. This is a new award which acknowledges and celebrates investment in skills by a small to medium sized enterprise employing less than 250 people in the engineering and advanced manufacturing sector.  This category recognises a business that invests in the training and development of its workforce.  Judges look for applicants able to demonstrate that they are a leading light in this area by showing clear evidence of how investment in skills can bring benefits to people and businesses alike. The Northern Automotive Alliance Business Awards provide automotive companies with the recognition for their achievements.

Grace Hammond, Marketing & HR Manager at Auto Marine Cables said “At Auto Marine Cables we believe that the training and development of our employees is vital and contributes to the success of the business. Over the next 12 months we will be rolling out training programmes such as leadership courses for all levels of management to ensure the leadership style is consistent and fair at all times. Other training requirements for role specific tasks will also be offered where needed to ensure our teams are the best they can be at what they do. Regular communication internally to all teams about the business plan, our strategy and where we’re up to in achieving our goals has improved colleague’s understanding of how they play a part. It has made our colleagues feel valued and put the activities and improvements we are carrying out into context and explained why they are needed. The culture is very good at AMC where we continually strive to improve what we do. “

Congratulations to Auto Marine Cables for winning this prestigious award. Grace added, “Thank you to everyone at AMC for all their hard work and for their contribution to making this a great place to work. And thank you to the NAA and event sponsors for hosting a fantastic event.”
